So Here It Is

Life for me is great. I have a great job, I li
ve in a great town, and I have a great girlfriend. Plus Dazey is doing great too.

I'm not sure when or if I will post more to this blog again. We'll see. The reason is that I just could not, until now, get myself to post anything here. Because I felt that once I posted the next blog entry then this adventure will have come full circle; from no house, to long lasting adventure, to house again (renting it, but still...), and that once I put my thoughts to blog this adventure, and the not knowing where I will be next week free spiritedness, will end.

My groovy rental house, and groovy car in Moscow, Idaho.

I know that it does not have to end, but now I'm renting a place and I have a job. Those are both stable and semi-permanent things. I know too that this blog is not just a means to keep in contact with you and me you, but to me this posting signifies an end and I just didn't want it to end.

Speaking of blogs, I've been talking with my supervisor at work and just had a GREAT performance review, by the way. We also talked about me doing a blog for the station like the other full time on-air staff are doing. Here, here, and here. So I may start another blog, but without it being about me and what's happening in my life, in the same vein as this one. Mostly because now my life is back to being semi mundane again. The new blog may have some elements of my life but I'd like to try something different.

At times I have these memory... flashbacks I guess, but flashbacks sounds so drug induced, but I'll be doing something and think of a time and place during my travels. It seems unusual and daydreamy, and I have to shake my head to realize that I'm back in the U.S. and living a regular life again. I mean, just look at where I was a year ago. I have a great life, I tell you.

Well, what the hell have I been up to these past, oh holy cow, almost three months? It's not like I can remember... um, uh... what was I talking about? Oh, it's not like I can recall all the stuff that has gone on, but here are some things for you.

I turned 40! Damn I'm old. I was telling Elise that I am "officially" old. Once you hit the big
four-oh you can't claim "young" any longer. Yes I look and feel young, but I'm 40 now. People look up to me as an elder (HA!). But just to make you all jealous, I still get carded for alcohol!

As I think back from the time I started this job to when I got into my rental house my whole lifestyle has changed so much.
After you have been on the road for an extended period, or not having your own place to hang your hat for more than a couple of months, settling down into a place and signing a paper that says you will stay in this one place for one year is really strange.

There are just some things in this life that you don't really miss until they are gone. Not everything was like that, because I knew I'd miss them but here are some things that (about) brought me to tears:

*Taking a hot shower in my own bathroom that lasts for more than 5 minutes.
*Drying with my own fluffy soft towels.
*Seeing all of my things again. From the couch to my favorite cooking pot.
*Using my 4 slice toaster.

*Hearing my fabulous stereo system once again. I literally balled during the first song I played.
*Having a refrigerator that holds more than just a few days worth of food.
*Getting INTERNET! - Try living without it, and trying to do all of your living off-line, or by just going to internet places. It's not easy and it's just so out of the way.
*Putting up and seeing the great art work that I own o
n the walls. Wow.
*Realizing that I am getting up to go to a job that I not only love doing, but love going to.
*Seeing all those great movies in my library and getting Netflix again.

I don't have much else to say, except that doing this blog has been a great experience. I think that in part it got me the job I have now and has kept me in touch with friends from all over the world. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I'll be sure to blog about it. Until next time...

Be well my friends and thanks for sharing the ride.
Love, Thom
