Let's Get Caught Up
On January 9, 2005 I lost my job as Computer Administrator at the local Telephone Company. Technically my "position was eliminated" or as I like to say, I got downsized. Whatever the case, I ain't gots me no J.O.B.
At first it wasn't that big a deal. But then reality hit and I was without a job and not real prospects. After of few weeks of great stress and bit of depression, I decided that since I'm not married and I don't have a girlfriend, although I do have a dog, Dazey there is nothing holding me down. So why not sell my house and take a large chunk of the money from the sale and go travel around the globe.
I have a very tentative plan of first going to Maui, Hawaii and then to Australia, Thailand and then Japan. But these are just ideas of places that I'd like to visit. My idea is to go vagabond style and I am only allowing myself one bag(!) (thank you onebag.com). Now that I have decided to do this all I have to do now is sell my house.
As of this writing I have a buyer and we've signed an agreement and I have to out of the house on March 15, 2006. The home inspection was on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 and the buyer has some issues with a couple of minor roof and there are some electrical issues as well. The buyer had an electrical contractor come and look at the house on the Friday after and they looked the place over and checked out the issues specifically mentioned by the Home Inspector. They said, "We'll write something up and get back with the buyer." Whatever that means.
So now I'm waiting for a call from the buyer so that we can discuss whatever it is that he thinks needs to be done to the house to get it to where he thinks it should before moving in. The waiting is the hardest part.
